12. The Hail Plague (Exodus 9: 23 - 26)
People often treated weather as a natural phenomenon. They seldom connected it to the divine power as Christ described in the Bible below.
He answered them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’ And in the morning, ‘It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. (Matthew 16: 2 3)
So, God was using a severe hail plague to teach Pharaoh and the Egyptians that He is the Lord, so that they would let the Israelites go. Even though the hail plague was devastating, God still showed His mercy toward the Egyptians. How and why was that? Also, how do we apply it to our spiritual life?
